What is an AC error code?

Modern split and inverter ACs continuously self-diagnose. When a sensor reading goes out of range, a motor stalls, or the refrigerant pressure is wrong, the AC stops or limits operation and shows an error code on the indoor display (or blinks a lamp pattern). The code tells a trained technician exactly which section failed — which means a faster, cheaper repair when you share it with us before the visit.

Before you call anyone, try this 2-minute reset

1. Switch the AC off from the remote.
2. Turn off the MCB (main switch) for the AC and wait 5 minutes.
3. Turn the MCB back on and restart the AC.
4. If the same code returns, note it down — it is a genuine fault, not a glitch.

Safety note: codes marked "Urgent" in our lookup mean the AC is protecting itself from serious damage (compressor, power module or high pressure faults). Keep the unit switched off until a technician inspects it — repeatedly restarting can turn a small repair into a compressor replacement.
